i've been building up fixies from old racers for a little while now but have stuck to jap/english frames due to the ease of sourcing components. looking for a challenge , I have purchased a " decathlon " frame , its french and i believe it to be early 80's , the frame came with a bottom bracket installed , it looks to be of cottered style but i havent got a clue , its 68mm wide on my calipers , i think it's ISO ( 13mmx13mm tapered) theres a picture here
basically i want to replace/ rebuild it as its nearly 30 years old ! sourcing french parts is harder than i anticipated as i assumed they would be campy ( naive of me) .. any advice is welcome on sourcing one or rebuilding :) thanks
Im looking for a bike shop with the tools to face my head tube and bb, chase the bb, and ream/ hone the seat tube on my new steel frame. Not having any luck - no one has the tools! Cheers, Elio
