I will be doing my 5th fixed gear century at the Sea Gull Century in Salisbury, Maryland on Saturday, October 6th 2012. If any of you want to hop the pond and join me, I will be riding my 1984 fixed gear red Pinarello. Last year's ride can be found at my blog, October 2011 entry:

I have successfully used Showers pass elite II jackets over the past few years. They are well made and very protective. There are some photos in my blog at:

I did my second Seagull Century ride on my 1984 Pinarello fixed gear over the weekend. This might be a good excuse for some of you chaps to jump the pond and join us next October. You can fly into D.C., see the sights, and then go to the Eastern Shore on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay to do the ride. It is basically flat, has great roads, lots of support, and 6,500 friends to ride with. A wonderful way to get in your first FG century! The local crabs are unbelieveable. Remember. LOOK LEFT! My fixed gear 1984 Pinarello, frame purchased by me new in 1984. Check out my blog at www.jwanermanbikeblog.blogspot.com. Come ride on Long Island with me sometime.
Does anybody have knowledge of who manufactures a dedicated 650B fixed gear frame with road geometry? I currently ride a 1984 Pinarello converted to fixed with 700x28c tires. I am looking to build a fixed gear bike for the road with longer rides and centuries in mind, maybe some randonneuring. My location= Long Island USA.
