London Fields Cycles sell the pitlocks...

Looks good! Thanks for the link. Sadly no price list yet and design is so new that no-one has tested it yet!

Hi. I know there's been a few posts already about Pitlocks for solid axles - but I'm new to this forum and looking for some fresh advice from people who actually use them in their bikes already. I also can't start a new thread because of "rules" about being a new member - so sorry for just jumping in the middle of conversation here.

I am in the process of building a very beautiful fixed gear bike and wanted to put pitlocks on front and rear wheels (essentially the most expensive part of the bike). So apparently I have to buy a special M10 Rohloff solid axle pitlock - but got confused by the reviews that it's only suitable with Rohloff axle/hub? Is this true? Have any of you fitted an M10 pitlock to an Ambrosio hub before?

I definitely don't want to carry two D-locks.

Also, I read that you can't really put them on rear wheels because of the horizontal drop-outs. Again, is this true?

Would appreciate any replies from people who use the solid axle pitlocks successfully - and that they will work on any axle/hub - not just a Rohloff? Also any links for best place to buy them. Thank you!
