I was in a cafe in west london last night for about an hour and when I went outside I saw someone had locked their bike to mine and the street rail. They had used one of those kryptonite plastic with metal wiring inside type cords and it looked harder to lock my bike than to avoid it.
I asked all the people in the cafe and none of then came forward. One would only park their bike there if they were going to the cafe.
Luckily some police were walking past and I engaged them. Nonetheless they stated they couldn't do anything anyway. But they did take a good look for about 10 minutes.
At this point the owner of the cafe agreed to hold on to the bike if I cut the lock and as I was on the phone to a locksmith the owner of the bike run over from wherever he was unlocked and cycled away pretty fast. Annoying as I was just about to lock my bike to his.
Is this a know tactic by thieves?
I assume he was hoping I would take a bus home and come back the next day leaving him all night to cut my lock.

not sure why this has deteriorated to this
you have sold the brakes - a fair price is a price that sells as you found out after numerous price drops
i was merely haggling privately with you on prices higher that the final one you received - fair game?
either or, if i have offended you or anyone else then apologies
i will get back to my law abiding ways after post 1000
bygones?

Not exactly trying to make friends here are you Cypher?
Grow up cypher
wow - berated twice for mentioning the rules
will remember to ignore them - as you were
Sour grapes maybe
Is it because another forum member purchased them for the asking price, maybe he knew that they were quality items for a fair price?
You were offered them for a reduced offerdid not even know they were sold. i got some cheaper already

Ahem, found them here as well http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=172719
against the rules i believe
Could only see a hoodie from inside as the cafe windows are quite high up. By the time I got outside all I could see was the back of him.
The hoodie appeared to be white or at least light coloured and dark trousers.
