Fairly easily done. You need to choose what groupset you'd like first, or at least Campag or Shimano.
i like the shamano group set, is there any real difference between Campag or Shimano groupsets? have you got any tips or advice on doing the conversion?

oh also if anyone spots any bargain parts let me know. im looking to replace pretty much everything apart from the frame and handle bars. first buy i think will be some brake levers, was going to buy some new ones from chain reaction but would defiantly be interested in some half decent second ones

hey im a newbie hence why im posting on here. ive just recently bought a peugeot carbolite bike (hopefully ill post some pictures soon). im currently in the process of doing it up. just wondering if anyone has any experience or knows of any links of people who have converted the old school gearing system on the cross bar to the more modern gear shifters in the brake levers. im guessing its not impossible as you should be able to route it along the side the brake cable.

im actually looking for some more updated parts for the bike, but thanks for the heads up. i think i want to keep everything shimano but i could be persuaded otherwise if i find a nice substitute
