i know, actually sucks! was perfect for this trip too!
had a double shackle lock on it, and was in my mates back garden, so someone jumped a fence, saw through, and then jumped a fence with it back it would seem. Fair play they worked hard for it haha the wankers.
On the plus side, the ride was excellent, first relatively big ride i've done since being ill recently so felt good!
A woman i work with told me today there is a bike in her shed I can have, im not holding out much hope but part of me is praying for an absolute gem or at least a do-er upper !
How are everyone's preparations going ?
I spoke to a friend of mine who owns a cycle shop about sponsorship or some discount and pretty much got told to do one which is nice :/

I feel the need to share my story of heartbreak.
Yesterday i rode from brum to Stratford upon Avon with some friends. My mate lent me a beautiful tourer he had built and once we arrived he said I could have it for Berlin and then, once back, sell it and use the money I make to donate to Cancer Research.
The bike was then stolen an hour later.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hi guys - first post so please do not bite.
Was pointed towards this event and forum by EQ Fox and am VERY keen to take part if that's cool. Not only do i love a) adventure and b) cycling but Cancer Research UK has done alot for my family recently and I would love to give something back by taking part and raising as much money as possible! In a position where i can (and i dont wish to jinx it) raise a fair bit of money for the charity despite joining at this stage.
Am so keen to take part and would say having been told the route/itinerary/general 'jist' of things by Jon/EQ Fox that it feels like I am 6 years old and its christmas again - very excited at the prospect!
Also i just watched 'In Bruges' and whilst its a kind of messed up film, its still looks nice there :)
Have an old work colleague who runs a cycle shop now so can also get on to him for discounts/sponsorship/general freebie stuff :)
so yeah this is just me saying hello and i hope i can be apart of this with you guys. Although i do need a new bike ! perfect excuse i think :)

As of yesterday have raised 497.63 of your finest british pounds through work, and with a month to go until the kids break up should have plenty more opportunities
anyway that number made me happy so i wanted to share it.
