Still waiting for saddle to arrive, but I doubt he is going to have given me his address. It has been sent recorded delivery from post office close to where I live - not from the part of the country he claims to be based on ebay. Obviously he has my address so I'm slightly nervous, about doing anything that will piss him off.
I should have checked before I bought but this was the only saddle he was selling when I bought it, most of his past listings are private, only by comments and some listings he forgot to make private you can see he deals in an awful lot of second hand Brooks saddles.

Will definitely be more careful on bidding on anything like this again.

Got my brooks stolen from the Barbican car park last week - right next to the security guards office. Me and my boyfriend had our bikes locked together with a cable through both saddles. They cut the cable and prized off the saddles, broke/lost the tops of the seat posts so we have had to get new posts and carradice racks as well.

Anyway decided to buy cheap old brooks on ebay. It wasn't until after I bought it I realised that the seller 'specialises' in second hand brooks. Really pissed off that I might have inadvertently helped the trade in stolen saddles.

Just a couple of weeks ago I bought a brooks for my other older bike on ebay that was very definitely from some old boy cleaning out his shed, so I just presumed this was a similar seller.

Any idea what I should do?

OK Thanks very much - so I need to get a couple of shops to value it? and then take it to my home insurers rather than a specialist bike insurer?

    Hi
I've recently spent a lot of money doing up a 1950s Mercian frame, into a lovely bike. I now want to get it insured but looking about the web I'm coming up with the problem that a lot of places don't want to insure a bike over 3yrs old.

    eg this from Cyclegaurd:

*If the bike frame is older than 3 years old, depreciation would be taken into account (10% for every year from the date of manufacture).– the age of the bike is decided by the age of the frame, regardless of whether newer parts exist on the bicycle.

My frame is 60 years old (though it looks like new!) I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that will insure classic bikes.

Hi I'm still on the look out for a vintage front fork - with a steerer of 16cm or longer,
Its for an old reynolds 531 frame with nervex lugs, it needs to have a flat crown and probably be pre 80s........... I've been hunting high and low for this so if anyone knows where I might find one let me know!

Any idea if that steel frame is 531? or what the bike was originally? I'm interested in the forks as I'm looking for some for a 50s mercian I'm doing up.
