Interesting comment about Coke (other colas are available). A friend of mine also got his seatpost out using coke.
Coke contains phosphoric acid and whilst not very strong, for some reason it's really good on steel. When I worked at a British Steel lab, they told me that the best acid they had found for dissolving steel samples was a mix of 45/45 hydrochloric / nitric (for strength) and 10% phosphoric acid (to "get the reaction going"). -

I got the Pive bit. OPiveO?
Sorry, I'm a newbie and still in the nursery so I should be good!
I recently bought a set of traditional guaranteed squeal-free road brake pads and holders from Velo Orange in the US. Brake pad holder prices in the UK take the p*ss! They were $12 from VO.
And I'm seriously considering some of their metallic braid brake cable kits. There are VO resellers in the UK already, but they don't stock these little things which are, being VO, good quality. Basically VO impress me because they can be bothered to innovate with their own products and don't skimp on quality.
Lights I have a problem with, or rather I don't. Cheap LED flashlights and mounts from DX sorted me out. The quality is notoriously dodgy, the hardware on the mounts rusts, but they are cheap and I find it hard to believe anyone will compete with the Far East. If Epi velo is supposed to signify epicurean cycling products, you don't want to be selling this tat.

dbr - I just swapped a Suntour (111mm JIS) for a TA (118mm ISO) and got roughly the same chainline with my Stronglight 49D cranks (ISO). BUT the cranks simply would not sit right on a JIS taper, and would creak under load, the difference between them depends on how willing you are to force the fit, hence I guess the "about 4,5mm further".
So the calculation may be correct but who knows/cares? A Campag road double is sensible given that Miche have probably followed Campag convention. If you can borrow one to try first, that would be ideal.
