Hey everyone I am fairly new to road riding mostly been riding on cycle paths and recreational but recently bought a single speed road bike to commute and I have been out on it a few times. It came with platform pedals and I have at some dodgy moments when my foot has come off the pedal.
I recently bought some time atac roc pedals and they make powering up the hill a breeze but I've had some major falls forgetting to clip out!
Would you say I should get used to the platform pedals and to control the bike first (Im nervous doing hill starts and approaching junctions and busy traffic at the mo
moment) and then switch to the clipless pedals or jus stick to the clipless pedals?
I've only rode clipless around less busy streets Im too nervous at the moment to ride clipless on the road incase I crash into a car or fall off at traffic lights.
Sorry for the lame post. But in quite a dilemma. -

Stupid question. But will I not be able to fit 700 x 23 Durano S on my 2011 Flyer http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/road/flyer/flyer/specs with the stock Alex DA28 rims?

@rhb this was my first pair of Contis so I am not really the one to judge, they are most probably the cheapest of cheap of what the brand has to offer. May have been a manufactures flaw but they only lasted practically 3 days and this was only a 2-4 mile commute over those days. And I pumped the suckers up to 120 each day (well when they needed to be pumped).

Thanks hugo for the links mate I'll check them all out and will use the advanced thread features.
@Aroogah 3 days of riding and the seemed to wear straight away.
I saw a post on here which had a poll and the Gatorskins seemed to be winning for some reason but I've only heard people say bad things about them :s -

Another tyre thread? Start here. http://www.lfgss.com/thread11540.html
Thanks for the link
Thanks for the help guys!
I took them out on a cycle path and just would coast (single speed freewheel bike) and then unclip and the. Break to a stop leaning on my left foot had a few dodgy moments when I would topple to the right wide but managed to unclip before I hit the dirt.
I found that unclipping one foot and pedalling with just the one also helped me.
I think I'll stick with them going to take them on some more paths before the open road.
