Is Set a game?
It is, good for loud environments, quiet times or people who don't have much small talk to toss around. Also good for its more intended audience, being people who like spotting patterns. Twelve cards on the table, each with four attributes: the number, shape, colour and shading of their symbols. When you see three cards that on each attribute are all the same or all different, you claim them as a set. Replenish form the deck and play til they're all gone. Most sets wins.
You can see it here, though it is much beautifuller in real life.
Tuesday lunchtime?
Works for me.

Got an alloy post out of a steel frame by cutting the top off and gently peeling it from the inside with a wooden mallet and screwdriver, plus a little WD40. Took about two hours.
Impossible to tell whether several days soaking in diesel prior made much difference, but I'm inclined to think it didn't.

Not really, he was told by a fellow party member to go downstairs into a basement. 'Just go down, Groll. It is safe.' He was then eviscerated by the orcs hiding to the left and right of the door. Relations between the two players were never quite the same again. :)
(Only kidding--they're good friends.)
Sorry I couldn't make it today, Ben. Is Friday lunchtime good for anyone (except for Dan, that is)?
Gruesome, I only hope there was some honour attached.
Friday would be fine.

Hello there. I'd be game for the next meet - currently trying to get board games back into my life. My preferences are:
For something quick, Abalone, Boggle and Bluff are all good. With a bit more time, the good-looking German ones, Elfenland and Through the Desert (and Carcassone and Catan). And Scrabble played with house rules. Way back in the day we used to love Wildlife Adventures.
For card games, cribbage as a kid, 'dai' at secondary school and proper rummy (a la Rummikub) more recently. And Sechs Nimmt.
Did anyone play Mertwig's Maze? Like the Mysterious Cities of Gold cartoon, I remember it being amazing, but I was rather young and don't dare revisit it.
Hello Oliver, hello Ben. I spent all night playing Cold v. Insomnia and am not up for games this lunchtime, sorry. Gutted.
