This may be a shot in the dark but does anyone remember AKD Cycles of Morden, Surrey? I am looking for one of these lightweight / racing bike frames that were built by the AKD owner Fred Domasalla. Until the late 1960's he ran two cycle shops in the area, one opposite St Helier Station and the other in Rose Hill.
Fred had been involved for some years in the local club scene and was president of the Grove Manor CC, Sutton until it folded in 1962. I have seen one of these frames and will try and upload a picture of the head tube transfer, very similar to that used by Carpenter Cycles. The frame number on this example would indicate that some 90 odd frames had been built by 1964 so hopefully there are still some out there. -

This might be a bold call but maybe someone can help who is into older bikes.
I'm restoring a 1940s / 50s racing bike frame (Ted Fry of Feltham) back to road use but need a suitable 27 inch rear wheel to fit the narrow dropout width of 115mm. The wheel needs to be alloy, have a large flange hub and be able to take a four speed freewheel block, narrower than the usual run of the mill stuff.
Thanks,

I love older bikes - no double entendre meant and ride and race on them wherever possible.
My clubs are the Middlesex RC, Morden CRC and Thornton RC. I also belong to the V-CC in which I'm the marque enthusiast for Mal Rees bikes.
