Today I missed out on this claimed 1971 Giro d´Italia winning bike of Gösta Pettersson. Sold in Sweden today. Gösta rode a Monark labelled Masi. It looks like a Monark labelled Masi Gran Criterium to me and in a great state to.... and looks very similar to my 1972 Masi gran criterium. Chain rings brings De Rosa to mind (the Pettersson brothers also presumably rode these bikes) but Masis have a similar shape on lugs. There could be a few Monark labelled Masis out there since the Pettersson brothers rode a lot of bikes during their time in Italy. Could be the one though??? Some old photos from the 1971 Giro could be the decider. Any thoughts or knowledge?
