My dad had the frame hand built to his specification in South London in 1963.
Lovely original paintwork, decals and hand painted gold lining on lugs. - Worn in places and superficial rust adds to charm.
1950's Ambrosio Brevettato adjustable stem. Normally go for good money on their own - eg £220 here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AMBROSIO-RARE-adjustable-stem-22-2-TRACK-PISTA-/310598869454?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item485122a1ce
FRAME: F. W. Evans 24 1/2" Reynolds 531 double butted with Nervex decorative lugs, and Campagnolo forged front and rear dropouts (rear with axle position screw adjusters). Frame designed as 5 speed with Campag Record handlebar change (bar end shift), so no boss for shifters on down tube.
1963 Campagnolo Record rear deraillier (NOT Nuovo Record introduced 1967), modern 5 speed block and chain with very little wear.
WHEELS: Original, hand tied and soldered butted rustless spokes. British Hub Company (BH) RaceLight large flange alloy hubs, Constrictor alloy rims (27 x 1 1/4”).
BRAKES: Weinmann Vainqueur 999 alloy centre pull, Weinmann levers & Hoods.
GB Tourmalet alloy drop handlebars with cloth grips, Alloy pedals with GB Professional stainless steel toe clips & leather straps. 1960's Coureur Super black nylon saddle (Brookes weren't the fashion back then...). Unknown alloy seat post.
Bike in solid overall condition, but I would recommend new tires, tubes and cable outers. Steel parts (eg seat pin bolt, toe clip buckles) have surface rust to some extent, could be improved with a dab of oil/rebuild/etc. Chainset and front mech not original (mech just running as chain guide). I would be inclined to put on single ring 60's chainset and scrap the mech.
I'm based in South London and can bring the bike into Central if required. Let me know if you want any additional photos/info, my number is 07921 219273
