I just got a quote back from Fuji for £94 to fix the aperture blades issue.
The eBay seller put £100 across and told me to get a couple of pints for the trouble experienced, something which has instilled once more my trust in eBay and Mankind in general.
They quote a 10-15 day turnaround, but I fly out to Berlin on the 17th and bought the camera specifically for trips like this (the SLR + lenses doesn't compute with traveling IMO) so I paid £10 for a fast track service, which they've now just quoted me 2-3 working days turnaround....wonder if the 10-15 day quote was just to get me to pay for fast track.....

After browsing through this thread last night I decided to fire up the Gaggia Colour this morning which I got free from my old job. I usually use a drip coffeemaker or a Moka pot, I stopped using the Gaggia due to consistency issues with the espresso.
Was quite nice this morning although I was late and had to give the coffee to my bird in bed. Once I rectify the little pissing out the side it should be good.

I'm sorry to say that I've heard when they charge (rather than do it under warranty)they charge big.
I've heard the opposite - that they basically charge about £80 for labour and don't charge you for parts, so long as the serial number of your camera is within a batch that they know was affected.
They won't say this explicitly, as the official line is that there is not an official problem. But rather a lot of people have got them repaired out of warranty for way less than replacing the lens unit would normally cost.
This is sort of what I've heard too. Fingers' crossed.

After lugging an SLR and two lenses around Australia for a month upon my return I decided on a more modest shooter for trips away, and bought a 2nd hand X100 on eBay. Unfortunately it quickly became apparent there was some aperture issue which on further inspection turns out to be the dreaded Sticky Aperture Blades issue.
Contacted the seller who said he honestly had no idea and has agreed to pay for the repair as long as it's cost-effective (otherwise it's refund) and have sent it off to Fuji.
Just wondering if anyone has any idea about what the cost of repair will be?

My Kona Dr Dew was nicked from a gated streets’ bike “lockup” in Stockwell 😢
Edit: obviously not with those pedals, otherwise I would have deserved it.
