Ok, might be swearing in the church but since this is the only bicycle forum I'm a member of and considering the vast knowledge of the members here, I take the chance to ask anyway ;)
I have a new (old) bike, a BSA from the 30-40s, which is about finished for riding now.
However, I have a problem with the gears which for this bike I'd like to keep. Basically, the gear cable attaches in a non-standard way inside the gear shifter, where it looks as if it should hook up on a small pin.
I assume I'm missing a part of the shifter or if it is a general detail which you attach to the end of the gear cable (not the usual welded end cap) with a small screw, which in the other end is ring shaped.
The shifter looks like this:
Down at the gear hub it's an ordinary cable connector like this:
If anyone knows how to attach the cable to the pin inside the shifter or knows either where to buy or has for sale the detail I assume should be attached to the end of the cable that goes into the shifter that would be much appreciated.
Kind regards, Vic

Hi everyone, my first post here and wish it would be about another subject but still, my bike, which was to be converted to single speed, got nicked last wednesday from the walkaway outside my apt on the second floor in Bermondsey.
The bike was a quite used Peugeot, costed me £80 a few weeks ago and I had only ridden it once.

Hi all,
Anyone has any advice on a rear luggage carrier that is as minimal that it can be considered invisible, and kind of vintage looking to fit a 30s BSA?
Only thing so far i've found is the Sögreni Luggage Carrier (http://sogrenibikes.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=9) but at a 150 pounds I find it sliiiiiightly expensive....
The bike in question is black b t w :)
Anyone?
Cheers Vic
