Just built my first Fixie from an old racing bike, and would like a Flip Flop wheel. The bike is old and not expensive, so do not want to spend a whole heap on the wheel. AM prepared to spend some cash though.

You'll get plenty of good advice here unless you start insulting people or ask obvious questions. My advice would be to go check out Sheldon Brown's site and read up on the relevant stuff there, if there's still things you need explained ask here. Too many new guys ignore that and end up getting into petty arguments which kind of ruins the whole idea of getting help.
Fair enough, I still think people could be kind.

This thread, although long and full of funny stories helped me build and paint my first fixie. I didn't have the money to get it painted, so had to do it myself using a can. I decided to do it this way to get more intimate with my bike...strange I know, but there is something to be said about a man and his creation. This is the result and story...
