My Giant Yukon (dual disc, 19" silver and blue frame 2010 model) was stolen from the 4th floor of a secure building in Clapton 18th August, locked with a D-lock and a cable lock (useless I now know) to a metal railing built into the building. Police are treating it as a burglary but have given up. i've tried Gumtree every day, ebay, Loot, Brick Lane twice and I really miss my beautiful bike. If anyone sees her please do let me know.
I was kicking myself for not having her secured with a motorbike chain i'd bought but looking at the videos on here of them being cut through in 20 seconds I'm not sure this obviously very determined thief would have been that much put off by it.
P.S. Does anyone know how effective the security marking kits available from the bike register are? Or failing that does covering the bike in stickers/a respray actually work to deter thieves?
