I recently bought some Dia Compe BRS 100 brakes, due to the massively techincal reason that they're red. Unfortunately the screw in the back doesn't fit in the frame.
My flatmate suggested getting the back of the frame insert drilled and I've been quoted a price from Hackney Central Bikes and Look Mum No Hand! But Micycle said they could but wouldn't because it would weaken the frame too much.
Does anyone have any opinions on this? Sorry if this is a lame question but I've got little idea about these things so help would be appreciated.

I'm new to the forum but here's my ride. Made by my friend's dad, soon to be horrifically mutilated by my inexperienced DIY project.
More to follow and any tips will be appreciated.
Plus I've already sanded the frame and resprayed the primer. If the bloody rain stops tonight then I'll be able to do some colouring after a bit of sanding.

Cheers Lessman. I still can't get my head around how to attach images though, but I guess that's for another thread too. Fast learner, me.

My first post on lfgss and this is probably considered the opposite of bike porn. Unless you're really dirty and like the nasty stuff ;)
I'm going to be taking this apart and respraying, plus adding some stuff. As I have no experience what so ever, it'll probably make it a lot worse, but at least it'll be entertaining for everyone else to watch me ruin a perfectly good bike.
And apparently my image doesn't show either.

Cheers for the advice. I've covered myself in KY jelly and have my drill in hand.
Actually, I chickened out and have left it with someone else to do it for a small fee whilst I'm at work.
I've got no idea what the frame or forks are either, but they're definitely steel. I'll post pics once it's done so maybe you can guess.
