This is a real, classic, a 1949 AS Gillott track/time-trial frame, number 491394
It has beautiful spear point lugwork and a very fine rear triangle, rear facing fork ends and slender, beautifully curved front forks. There are no braze-ons at all. Nothing is seized and the threads are good.
It has been re-sprayed in Subaru Impreza blue. The paintwork is in very good condition except for a couple of scrubs on the rear forks where I fitted Raceblades for the winter. Please note the front axle width is 95mm and the rear 110mm, normal for that era. You will have to remove some spacers from modern hubs to get them to fit.
The frame was built for 27in wheelsSpecification:-

Tap out the loose cotter-pin. You will see a ridge where it has been moving. File the ridge out trying to keep the angle the same and the tapered surface flat. Re-fit tapping lightly with a hammer and tighten nut. Ride a bit re-tap and tighten. If still loose repeat the process. Whaking with a hammer will not work!
