I used to have a mechanical avid disc on my bike at uni (until it was stolen) though I can't remember which one. I never had a problem with it. Maintenence was way easier than on my current shimano hydraulics and the feel of the brakes was really positive.
Also have those kona forks on my hybrid and a mates put some on his mountain bike for commuting. No complaints at all.

My bro had his bike stolen 3 weeks ago. He found it on gumtree yesterday and arranged to go and see it today. Got in touch with the police. They arranged to meet him round the corner. He went to double check the bike was his, it was, the police came round the corner and arrested the seller. My brother now has the bike back at home and has to give a statement for the villains to be prosecuted!
Just thought I'd let you know that he was lucky, hopefully you will be too. It shitty getting your bike nicked.

Red marlborough folding shopper type bike
I have a marlborough folding shopper that I need to sell. I put a brand new back wheel and singlespeed sprocket on it as the sturmey archer 3 speed was broken when I got it. The brakes are fine and its in decent cosmetic condition (see pics) only issue is it needs new tyres (I've seen some brand new whitewall for £16 delivered on e-bay, for two tyres and would be willing to sort this out prior to sale (with this cost added to final agreed price) Seat is a little tattered but useable. Offers welcome
