Another vote for the Camelbak bottles. They're made of some special Carlos Fandango plastic, so they don't make the water taste foul like every other plastic bottle I've ever used. I've always found the alloy ones a bit poor on the bike due to the above lack of squeezeability and the fact that they look terrible once they've slid down the road / been taken in and out of a muddy bottle cage a few times.

Loctite make some stuff called "Freeze N Release", which is basically a combination of freeze spray and plusgas. Halfords / car spares places tend to sell it. It's really useful as it lets you get a big temperature difference between components without resorting to heatguns and blowtorches.
And Plus Gas always beats WD40 in my book, but WD40 is better than nothing.
Odd. Saxon frames used to be built that way back in the 30s and 40s, the idea being that you could bring the rear wheel forward between the twin seat tubes, shorten the chainstays and therefore have a stiffer bike.
So +1 on the gimmick then.
