Hi guys,
I have a Freddie Grubb given to me when I was a teenager from my uncle who was a keen cyclist, road racer etc. I believed it to be a track bike at some time although my uncle had fitted 5 gears on it for me. The bike was given to me more than 30 years ago. It has a frame number of 5289 which is on the rear wheel lugs. I am going to get it cleaned up and sprayed the original colour. It doesn't have a head badge and all that is fitted now is the forks and seat post. I am having trouble getting the stem out but looking at other posts this could be a bit of bother. A friend of mine who is really keen on his old bikes is going to give me a hand with bits etc. Any info would be great.
Cheers,

Hi Guys,
New to the site and after a few years of talking about renovating a Freddie Grubb I have finally started. I am looking for advice on m y frame and any info would be much appreciated. The frame number is 5289 and I got it from my uncle who was a keen cyclist a few years ago. I will start a new post once I get my full rights.
Obviously there are some very knowledgable people out there and it's good to know they are sharing it - great site.

Thanks again for the reply,
I was going to wait and find out a year before i went for headbadge etc. I saw one on Ebay recently and reluctently didn't bid as I wasn't sure it was right. I am not going for a full blown period restoration but if I can get all the frame stuff right colour etc then I would be happy.
Cheers
