Pashley do some nice leather grips. Matches the colour of a honey Brooks saddle quite closely, and nicer, cleaner finish than the Brooks grips ... pricey (RRP £50), though currently going at discountcyclesdirect.co.uk for £39.99
They use them on the Guvnor.

At a push, you could try Pashley's leather frame protector. At £25, it makes a nice handle too.
A picture of it on the Guvnor:

The LCC tries: "Beat the Thief" campaign 2010.
I don't hold out much hope, but nice to see locks scrape an honourable mention at the bottom of the list. Let's hope the other 7 steps get some attention.

Ha, did my dashing of platitude bug you, Morgan?
For what it's worth, I was being sincere, and without a dash of belief in patronizing superiority.
Not at all horatio, your comment was taken sincerely, and with genuine thanks.
I fear my "for what it's worth" misfired. I intended it to refer back to my original comment, hoping to suggest to those pillorying the following of fashion that I didn't set a great deal of store in the current fancies of art directors either, appearances to the contrary (the shared eye for a classic, or the reach of Pashley's product placement department, is another matter). Sorry, should have made that clearer.

What can I say, I quite like it.
It's about 3.5kg to carry on a 13kg bike. Of course, you can swap the M18 for a lighter long shank, say the Evo Series 4, or a Kryptolok Series 2. Both fine on my insurance policy. If it gets stolen, I get a brand new bike. Not much to complain about.
