Anyone know any good rides out South East from London? Found this to Canterbury but not sure what the route will be like:
You can find plenty of Dulwich Paragon SE London rides at Garmin.
Here's the 75 miler I did on Sunday

That's the thing about security though - it's an arms race. I had my first Fuji Track nicked when someone sliced very neatly (no nibbling or levering the plates apart) through a Steel-o-Flex. Times change and clearly at least some thieves are going equipped with something that will cut them very cleanly. Thus, while they're hella convenient, they can't really be recommended for anything one gives a toss about.
Sorry are we talking about the same lock? There's a lot of different types. I'm talking about the Abus, Gold Sold Secured, Granit Steel-O-Flex?

If nothing else don't waste time with steel-o-flexes. Lost my road bike the same way earlier this year while locked in a very public place.
Have to disagree with this. This is the first bike I've had stolen in 4 years and the first one with a Steel-O-Flex. It's a great lock. About 2 years ago I came back to my bike locked in Brick Lane with 2 police stood next to it.
Police: "Is this your bike?"
Me (cautiously): "Yeah..."
Police: "Well we caught someone trying to break the lock and wondered fi we could take a statement?" -
First post so I can only reply at the moment.
I had a nice 2 month old Fuji track bike stolen from outside the Canton Arms (between Stockwell and Brixton) last Friday night. It was locked to a streetpost with an Abus Steel-O-Flex right OUTSIDE the pub
I can't be sure how it was stolen as the bike and lock were gone but my best guess is that they removed the sign (there were two brackets on the pavement) and lifted the bike clear over the top of the post. It retrospect it wasn't the tallest post but it was still a good 8 ft.
It's a pretty distinctive bling paintjob http://www.fujibikes.com/Specialty/Track/TrackComp.aspx and it's mine if the front wheel been replaced with a standard Open Pro rim on a pewter Goldtec hub. Condor black brake lever, chrome tiagra brake and spd pedals on it too.
I'm not expecting to get it back but if you can you bear it in mind if you're on ebay or Gumtree for the next few weeks.
If nothing else remember to lock a bike to a post that high enough, or is shaped such that the bike cant be removed by lifting. I feel such an idiot for being done like this.
Ahh...so you are saying all locks are rubbish. Fair enough
