I'm planning a round trip across the south-west of England. Does anyone have an idea for a fetching route? Start and fish Portsmouth, just few traffic, not too hilly (I ride a vintage Freddie Grubb fixed gear bike and I'm vintage too...) and with bicycle friendly B&Bs?

how do wooden rims ride compared with their modern alloy counterparts? Can you tension the spokes to the same degree? I've got to try some... They look great anyway.
