All, I know this thread has been settled for a bit, but I'd like to throw in one more Brooklyn neighborhood as a reference for anyone else who comes along. Prospect Heights is between Park Slope and Fort Greene (both mentioned), and it's the latest to get a bit gentrified... but prices are still low for apartments, and you have immediate access to Prospect Park and good bike baths to downtown.

Hello all. I'm in a similar position as dbnyc, just over to London (city) for work for a few months. I am not shipping my bikes from home, so I'd like to buy one locally, and I think going single speed is a good way to keep the cost down, as I will only be here a year. I would only be around London, possibly out to Canary Wharf (work) from near St Pauls... can anyone tell me if that's an easy ride on a single? Thanks!
Hello,
I'm an American expat working in London for the next 8-12 months, and I'd like a used single speed bike to get around town.
I'm 6'5" and probably need a 58cm - 61cm frame, which I recognize may be tough. Price negotiable based on bike condition, and I'm also willing to buy miscellaneous accessories like a lock. Cash exchange in person in London only, please.
Thanks!
