  Hi,

  Occasionally after a skid I notice that my pedals slip round with no cog movement, so like my legs spin maybe 1/4 rotation without any propulsion.

  I am assuming something is loose rather than broke as it tends to be OK after an initial slip but yesterday it happened as I was moving off some lights and I almost came off.

  Should I be looking at the BB & cranks or round the Lockring & cog.

  I am fairly certain this must be a simple thing to solve but as I am not to savvy in bike tech its hard for me to visualise what is actually occurring.

  Any help would be boss like, cos I looked like a right silly beggar (and almost died).

  I have been absent for a bit. Moving from Surbiton to Isleworth but yeah I am still down for this.
  Have insane Chris Hoy gearing at the minute and no lock ring remover so need to get one and swap my cogs around, but sling me a PM if this happens and if I can lend a mallet off any one that would be sweet.

  I have a low variable rate on the place I have just bought but factored in any potential rises in base rate.
  It would have to go up a fair few points to overtake the rent on my last place so I'm happy with my choice not to go fixed. Assuming no rise for 12months its an extra grand off my debt.
