There is a bit of margin but it's better a little too long than a little too short. I'd go 291 F+R.

ERD is not from iside to inside of the rim, it's to where the nipples sit. So inside to inside plus x2 the thickness of rim at the spoke hole. I think.

It's totally possible to do this, I just worked out how. You need an old spanner, a rusty nail and an opera hat. You squeeze your opera hat dowm the steerer tube, bang it with the old spanner and gently poke your eyes out with the rusty nail. Easyer said than done I know but not impossible.

Perhaps Contador inadvertently ingested clenbuterol after kissing a horse in a field? I guess we'll never know.
