I got the extra padding in my bagaboo workhorse messenger for pretty much those exact reasons (every week carry several of tons of booze up 3 flights of stairs solo (sans bag obviously), on top of the carrying a several kilos daily every which way), but it kept digging in my back, until i loosened the compression straps... oh happy days. I can carry it to capacity over one shoulder without any back/neck/shoulder pain. To be honest I've got the extra shoulder strap, but still haven't found the need to use it (even carrying a case and a half of cans).

Tried returning a stem to them according to their returns scheme (after a titanium bolt sheared under a 3rd of the recommended Nm), and it was "lost in the post"... simple google search reveals this is a trend. Cheap, but avoid.

the red Ciocc ss conversion and it's maker on a black dolan , that's in Current Projects, just now on Wheatsheaf Lane. The ciocc deserves gears!

Apologies for not saying howdy, didn't realise what you said 'til we were down the road. It does deserve gears (and drop handlebars), but I figure I'm maintaining yet another bike, so it's staying simple (and she wanted a sit-up position).

Finally finished building this for the missus, and handed it to her as a complete surprise yesterday. Unfortunately I had to scrap my idea of drop bars after she announced she liked to sit up when riding, hence the tiny stem and risers. She hasn't ridden in a fair few years, and it's just for fun, so no clipping/strapping in (and she'll never* ride fixed). I also avoided a nice Athena groupset on it as I know who'll be maintaining it. It rides bloody brilliantly though (more fun than my bikes dammit)

*I'm going to work on it

There's the Meantime brewery in Greenwich. Got a private tour years ago when they were starting up. Plus they have the Greenwich Union pub, where you can pop your bike into the garden out the back. Thier London Porter is amazing.

and apologies, but I don't know why this has been moved out of the "FOR SALE" area it was originally in.
