I agree about Evans' 'relaxed' attitude to bike setup before delivery. When I received my RB Solo I had to setup the mudguards, headset, brake calipers and even had to true the wheels both laterally and radially as they were totally unrideable. Setting up the seat and bars is obviously a given but the other stuff shows laziness.
If I was someone who couldn't service a bike to that level I would've been unimpressed to put it lightly, however I enjoy tinkering with new kit so I was chuffed regardless.

I have one, I use it every day and I'm quite taken with mine.
It's used for commuting 30m a day, bit of shopping and the odd longer jaunt and like the rest of my bikes is molly-coddled, you could eat your dinner off the chain :)It's my only single speed and I think it's a pretty smart looking bike in a utilitarian kind of way.
