I'm after a single speed bike to ride around in London, doesn't have to be anything special.
Frame size maximum 53cm, willing to pay up to £150.

    Thanks

Having had too many issues with tubulars, I'm looking to replace my wheels with a pair of clinchers. The 126mm rear hub spacing is the important part so that I do not need to amend my frame. Preferable to keep as much of the wheels Campag to fit the rest of the bike, but I'll be holding on to the tubs so as not to break up the groupset, so I'm fairly open-minded.

There's a strict budget (definitely can't afford more than £100) and I'm after an immediate purchase, so can collect anywhere in London. Ebay's proved fruitless and the classified history doesn't have much going for me.

Apparently someone borrowed the saddle and didn't reattach the back brake - I'm going round today to fix it and to go out for a ride to check everything works well. Thanks for the info. Any other input would be great but she'll be pretty happy with the above.

My friend is interested in selling her single speed conversion and has asked me for some advice on price, but as it was built by her father a few years ago in France, I'm a bit clueless as to parts/value and was hoping you guys would be more knowledgable.

The frame is an old blue racer seemingly built by D Lenté - I have no date - around 55cm bottom bracket to top tube. It was converted into a singlespeed with new parts. I only had five minutes with the bike earlier and from what I remember/noted down:

    Unidentifiable rims with Sachs-Maillard hubs
Mafac Competition brake set with Shimano V-brake levers model BL-M420
    Shimano Dura-Ace seat post
    Gipiemme Dual Sprint pedals
    Shimano cranks
    Planet X derailleur
    Old Brooks saddle, pretty beautiful.

I have attached a few pictures (the old frame is a bit rusted from what I could see but there's no dents/bends anywhere to compromise it's strength). Any information on the frame or individual parts (from the very limited information I gave) would be great, and ideally she'd like a figure to try and sell for. Its a good runner - a bit big for me - it got me to Brighton and back with ease.

The photographs are my friend's, but I am able to take more detailed/specific part pictures and collect more information if needed.

Firstly, apologies if there is a thread already covering questions such as this. I searched for a while but was unable to find anything related.

Does anyone know how much TFG are selling the bags for? They got in touch a couple of weeks ago about buying up my stock before they placed an order but I had little web access at the time so missed the opportunity. They've already sold out though, hence not being on the site at the minute, and are asking again. I'm not too sure whether to clear out at the price or paid or hold out in the hope that their prices are a lot higher than mine and that one or two stumble across this thread.

It looks like it could hold quite a load - the pockets are a useful feature - but surely that parcel would slip out as soon as the bag's on your back, no? I wouldn't be confident riding with it strapped up like that anyway. I had chance to check one out the other week, not quite as packed out, the guy who owned it said the outer layer just soaked up water and held it for ages. The inside was dry but putting it back on a couple of hours later meant instant wet back.
