Hi all,
I've got an old set of wheels I would like to be rid of - they're sturdy and useable but, let's be honest, not very pretty or lightweight. I'm giving them away for free to a good home.
They're the original wheelset from a Puch Sport 5 touring bike, probably mid-1980s in origin. They are 700c wheels, with a 28mm (I think) outer rim diameter. The rims are Rigida but I can't make out the make of the hubs as they're a bit rusted.
The rear has a 5 speed shimano freewheel hub and they come with a pair of rather well-loved but fetching gum-walled tyres. One inner tube is burst but the other seems OK for the moment. To be sure, I'd recommend that you replace the lot.
Although the wheels are old, heavy, and a bit rusty in places, the hubs themselves run very smoothly, come with their nuts included, and would be fine for a winter beater for on- and off-road riding.

Hi folks. Been out of the loop for a couple of years while working and traveling overseas. Now finally back in London and just picked up a cheapish green Puch steel frame tourer and in the process of fixing it up. Good to be back :)
