    Hi guys,
long time I didn't access here. I should more but as long as I don't live anymore in London I'm not anymore into it.
Just a quick post to tell you that I've been in London the 22nd of december to attend the inquest for the accident. After the investigation the driver was found not guilty because he stated that he didn't/couldn't see her.
I read the report of the investigation, saw the pictures and think that the verdict is unfair.
Do you think is a good idea to bring this case to higher courts? Anybody of you knows how much time we have to bring it to higher courts?

After the inquest I had an interview with a journalist of the evening standard and he published this arcticle that stayed almost a week on the first page of the website:

    http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23788071-marias-death-could-have-been-prevented-says-boyfriend-of-cyclist-killed-by-lorry.do

I think the comments are now not displayed but before they were and I could read so many people against the cyclist.
    Two things are possible:

    1. The arcticle is misunderstood by the people.
    2. The people in London are very rude and against cyclists.

By the way I finally managed to have a copy of the memorial ride footage. Thank you.

    Hey James,
I read about this. First of all thank you for everything.
I was just thinking few days ago if it could be a good idea to give the film to Louise, the BBC journalist. Maybe she can use it for her documentary. In fact you told me that it was a problem of organization not because they didn't want to film it.

    Hey guys!
    Thanks for all of this.
Me and Emma's family are really grateful for what you are doing. The most important thing right now is that her life, and the life of all the people who died in the same way, don't have to be vain and worth the safety of the future London cyclists.
I will be on your side even if I'm not gonna be there.

I wrote something to read tomorrow. I sent it to Diana (Eterea09). There is something from me and also something wrote from her parents. There will probably be something also written from friends and cousins.
I spoke also to the BBC journalist few days ago. Didn't ask why her London colleagues didn't give the news of Emma's death, but I hope they will be a good job.
    Safe ride guys

    Hi guys,
it's Riccardo, Emma's boyfriend, the girl of the accident.
I'm sorry if I coudn't show up before.
I've read the whole post and I see that there are few witnesses between you. One of them (I don't remember which one, I'm sorry) had also a police interrogation, as I could understand.
I had one also monday the 15th. I could explain to the detective what I could see only after the traffic light, because I was in front of all and I turned my head only when I heard her screams.
She was under the lorry hung in some ways, with the bike or clothes. I went after her shouting to make it stop. People on the pavement where shouting too.
At one point (75mt after the traffic light!) the body has been released in some ways. She was lying on the ground already dead, losing loads of blood.
The lorry stopped only 20 mt, maybe more, after the body. Then the lorry driver tried to escape, but somebody on the pavement (thanks to him) stopped him again.
I stood maybe 10 mins looking the paramedics trying to do something, then a police officer brought me away from there.
I have to thank all the people there, who helped me in that moment.

I didn't understand if there are any of you who could see what happened IN the traffic light. I could just guess it thinking about the dynamic of the accident.
If there are other witnesses who didn't write here yet who knows anything of what happened in the traffic light, I beg them to write here or to contact me in private.

Some of you said that what happened was a left turn. I know for sure that was a left turn. Does this mean that for sure it was the drivers fault?

If you organize a memorial ride for this I will be very happy. I know also about the critical mass that they do every month. Unfortunately I won't be there because I came back to Italy to stay with my family.

This is what we left in the place with few friends the day after:

    and this after few days:

Please let me know if you know something that I don't know yet.
    Cheers.

    Riccardo
