Someone mentioned a hawthorn jelly using crab apples for the pectin? Spotted a crab apple on the way home today so might give it a go. Would love to find a walnut, congrats on the find! Eyes peeled.

Yeah there’s still a good load of red berries, and we’ve had a ton already too. Just this current window has been marred by the damp conditions. Literal mould growing all over!

Just went out to grab some blackberries but the recent rain has made them all mouldy. Instead I came back with a surprise haul of damsons and hops, and a bunch of apples from a nearby orchard. Feel a boozy winter coming on...
Any watch-outs on the cider, apart from what you’ve mentioned here? Getting my first brew on tomorrow. Done a few beers previously with good results, quite looking forward to what seems to be a simpler process.
