No campaign group is going to make a blind bit of difference to lorries and junctions between now and the end of the summer. I feel that some of the groups have become particularly insular and caught up in their own manifestos to the point of losing focus on some issues that are probably more pressing than others.
Thanks for the feedback. However I think you're missing a crucial point: the most pressing issue for any London-centric campaign is the Mayoral election on 3 May 2012. LCC activity between now and then will be focussed on securing a commitment form the next Mayor to make our streets as safe and inviting for cycling as they are in Holland, as part of the Go Dutch campaign voted for by our members.
Other issues remain important, of course. Yet our ambition is to run the most visible, engaging and mass participatory single-issue campaign ever in the history of the GLA. we simply cannot do that unless we are concentrating on one message.
You are absolutely right though that the summer presents an opportunity to campaign on behaviour. I would go beyond existing cyclists though and use it as an opportunity to promote cycling to those escaping overcrowded tubes and busses.

@RowHan we had ~200-300 people on first flashride (morning rush hour in May). Caused no traffic problems whatsoever. Need the sort of numbers we had last Fri to really hold up traffic.
-
We delayed start (and halted a couple of times) to fit the TV news schedules. With the amount of congestion we'd caused there was no way we could do another lap and get to CM for 7pm. In hindsight link with CM should have been much better thought through - although, again, we did not want to split numbers.

@missmouse: not saying no follow-up (this was the second protest after all - first flashride ~200-300 was in May) but we didn't want to do an immediate repeat as likely smaller numbers, so would look like interest was sagging, media interest would certainly wane. That's why we just wanted to focus on the one ride on Friday. We won't shy away from another, bigger protest - perhaps also drawing attention to the grief they're giving you over London Bridge, before the 2012 campaign launch, if needed. But right now we await TfL's next move - expecting some news this week...

Firstly 'thank you so much' to everyone who took part (and many others who couldn't yet still helped spread the word). This was the biggest cycling protest I've ever witnessed and I hope we can build on it to build a transformative movement for change.
In my view a repeat protest should only ever be bigger, otherwise it risks being counter-productive - especially when so close in time. I'm therefore keen to focus on launching our 2012 Mayoral campaign on a really big way in the autumn. In the meantime we're seeking a response from TfL or the Mayor before making our next move. Of course the situation is always under review and we'll react to developments and our members' demands.
Incidentally LCC members... Time is running out to vote for our 2012 mayoral campaign, please do take the opportunity to have your say. If you have any difficulties pleas din't hesitate to call or email the office membership team who are ready to help.

See if you can get them to match the license plate.
Awesome! I'd buy this if I had storage space... :-(
