  Hi, thanks for the advice & offer! I'm screwing it in the right way, but it's not biting (just keeps turning without screwing in).

  I'm planning on getting the frame re-painted before assembling the bike - I just wanted to make sure the bottom bracket screwed in OK. From reading other posts, it sounds like I should get this done before dealing with the threads...is this right? (But at the same time, don't want to get this done if the frame's not going to work!) Any advice...?

  Hi all - I'm trying to fit an English threaded bottom bracket into a new old stock steel road frame, but the right-hand-side won't screw in. I'm pretty sure I've got the right bottom bracket (this is the first bike I've tried to build). Is it likely that I need to get the bottom bracket threads chased and the shell faced?

  If so, does anyone know where I can get this done in London (preferably reasonably cheaply)?
