Years ago, when I lived in Durham as an undergrad, I managed to knock the driver's side wing mirror clean off a Fiesta on my way into the city centre on a narrow street popular with wasted students wandering back to the colleges after a night out. Being a big believer in karma but having nothing to write on, I went into the local shop, got a pencil and paper and left a note on the guy's windscreen with my number. A few days later, he called me up and asked me if I knocked both his mirrors off since both were missing when he came back to town (both were there when I knocked the first off)... Due to it being a package deal for the pair, for which I paid half, the guy that knocked the other one off at least saved me a few quid.
