Sorry to restart an old thread, but I've just bought a volume cutter raw (going to be taking the decals off and make it look nice). Was just wondering if I can get a few recommendations for a fork. I'm not really pulling any bar spins or anything like that, and it will be my main ride so I like to have a pretty smooth feel. Hence, I'm kinda shying away from the rigid forks that most people stick on the cutter.
Styling wise I really like classic forks, but not sure how this will go. I was thinking some of the surly road forks, but was wondering about clearance etc as I've always bought frames and matched forks. The frame specs are here: http://www.volumebikes.com/img/cutters/fixed-gear-frame-specs-53.gif

    Thanks for the help guys!

It's harder than that though. Normal paint won't stick to chrome to my knowledge. Unless I guess you clearcoat it. Does anyone have any experience of doing something like this?

Anyone have any ideas on what might be a stupid question:

Is it possible to colour a chrome fork so it looks like its red chromed rather than standard chrome. Some sort of lacquer or something??

    Thanks!

    Thanks for making it public!
I could have done with that on the day but loads of useful info for what to do now.....

Why do some drivers just go mental because you're sub-30 and on a bike?

Well, I have his registration and have told the police, he basically threatened to knock me out many times yada yada yada. However, in the meantime, I'm without transport and possibly have to take the bus. Plus I really love my bike, so would want to get it repaired anyway. But I won't be saying no to a new bike as well!

    Hey guys,
Been riding fixed for a year or so, built it up myself, but I've joined the forum as I've had an accident and I don't think I can repair this one! I got done friday morning by a guy who just drove out a back street without looking straight into me. I saw it coming, but nothing I could do in time. Thankfully, there's not a scratch on me (the comfort of his bonnet was enough) but there's rather big impact bends/dents in the top and bottom tube.

I've had a search on the forum so far and seen that since I've got a steel frame, this can be repaired, but how much is that going to cost?? If it's more than £300 then it's more than the frame cost in the first place!

Any of you guys had experience of this (or welding)? Oh and sorry to put this in the welcome, but I can't start threads yet obviously!
