I Have a Truvativ Crank running with a 40t ring, however the alignment with the rear sprocket is slightly out. To remedy this I need to move the ring to the inside mounts on the spider as opposed to the current outside mounts. simple
The problem is that the mounts on the inside are, although the same BCD, smaller than the outside. My local shop has suggested filing them down the mm or so that it needs. Will this affect the strength of the crank? are there any alternatives? any tips if I do go ahead and file the metal down?
I am after a 60cm(or a bit bigger) track frame. Preferably steel, as i recently snapped an alu frame, and rear brake drillings would be nice but not essential.
I am looking to spend around the £200 mark but am open to offers and will be in London on Monday to pick up.
