  I'm planning to cycle BRUSS-AMS over Easter -- does anyone have a decent route we can take? The only stuff I can find online is in Dutch. Cheers.

  Dieppe-Paris: I'm thinking of splitting the ride over 3 days, anyone have any tips where to stay (2 nights)? Ideally we're French cultural oases over grim suburban campsites, I think.

• Stolen bikes

  Just had two bikes stolen from outside Royal Oak on Columbia Road E2. Both locked to lamppost with 2 Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit D-locks. A Charge Plug Freestyler (2009) and a Specialized Langster Monaco (2009) with cloth griptape on the handlebars. Absolutely gutted - is Brick Lane the only place worth looking?   I'm working up to building my first bike from scratch. Is there a book/blog/website anyone can recommend I buy - i'm no mechanic - so essentially looking for a comprehensive, layman's guide for a first-time build. Cheers
