I took this pic yesterday and then put my camera away. Seconds later a huge swan flew about 3ft over my head but I was too slow. It was nearly an amazing photo of a massive swan flying into the sunset with the bike in the foreground but never mind.

I spoke to thelondonpaper yesterday & they have run a piece on this today (the final edition of tlp)

I thought I would make you aware of it before the who the f**k is this Mike fella who says he is representing the forum starts. I really didn't expect a direct quote let alone this.

**AN EIGHTH cyclist this year has died in the capital after colliding with a lorry, prompting calls for a road safety campaign. Crystal Brown, 26, was hit on Wednesday morning at a junction on Whitechapel Road and died later in hospital. Police said that she had recently moved to Hackney. A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “It looks like she and the lorry were going to turn left. The back of the lorry clipped her and she has been dragged under.”

Cyclists have expressed anger on internet forums at the number of cyclists killed by lorries, especially when turning left. A meeting is planned next week to discuss ways of making roads safer. Mike R**, of the London Fixed-Gear and Single-Speed forum, said: “Some solutions can be quite cheap and simple . We need to tell people not to go between the left of lorries and the pavement at traffic lights. “Several cyclists have been killed in this way .”

I asked a journalist for thelondonpaper (I work for same company) to look into this. I hope they will do a piece on the this & the Whitechapel Road accident in today's paper.

Sounds bad but could have been worse. Also I have been told that there have been no arrests in relation to fatal accident.

The police have said the cyclist collided with a concrete mixer on the junction with Atkins Road at 1.23pm.

A police spokeswoman said: "The male cyclist aged 20 from Vauxhall received a broken lower left leg and broken upper right leg and general abrasions. He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries are being treated as not life changing. "No arrests have been made. The incident is being investigated by our traffic department."

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision this morning (Wednesday) in Whitechapel.

A lorry was in collision with a cyclist at the junction of Whitechapel Road and Vallance Road around 6.35am.

The 26-year-old woman was taken to Royal London Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Police say they know the woman's identity and are in the process of informing all relevant next of kin.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured. ** *(Oh really genius?????)***

Both the vehicle and the cyclist were travelling south down Vallance Road immediately prior to the collision.

I asked as well and was told by a PCSO that she died at about 7am. 7.5 tonne lorry. Looks like it could have been turning left. Very sad.

As previously mentioned the creative agency Mother created this advert as. Their website is well Barley.

There are a few different videos. One of them is people skating around the office, and also a rabbit?

Nice offices though. When you go into reception one wall is covered with photos of....the staff's mothers

    I kid you not

    Hello All,

I thought I would take the plunge & say hi as I would like to pop down to the east end drinks one of these weeks and thought I should at least be a member. I have been lurking for a while now......

I never would have thought that I would have spent quite so many hours reading the ramblings of a group of strangers who are, in most cases, linked by nothing other than their fascination with bike with no gears. Random. Thanks to you all, some of this stuff is hilarious (particularly the Specialized sponsorship, genius) Really useful of course too.

I have had a Fuji Track for about 3 months. Do a relatively short 8/10 miles round trip to work (rain or shine) plus occasional w/end adventures. I am not going to go all Hipster on Y'all but I have put on some cut down risers, need a new saddle (ugly) and am considering lowering the gears a touch. I can almost hear the cries of HTFU as I type!

I feel better have got that of my chest

    Cheers
