@606- If any stuff was left behind from the raft race we'll pass word around and try to get it picked up. It wasn't a Space Hijackers outing, just happened to have a couple of SH bods in it. It would be hypocritical if they'd left the stuff there out of negligence, but I'm sure they either couldn't get to it or didn't know it'd been left behind... PS I'm very much a working-class type, and get a bit bored of the middle-class tag...!

@ Greasy Slag - the only reason I posted a thread here is because loads of fixed / single-speed people would have been in Bishopsgate with the Mass (or otherwise). I know it seems a bit off-topic to be talking about a great big old "tank" in a cycling forum! (And obviously the reason I'm a member here is because of the amount of speeding around I do on my 25 year-old Peugeot fixie...) Greasy Slag, you're EXACTLY the sort of person the solicitors are keen to speak to. So in that sense, there's been one response. It's up to you of course whether you can be bothered sending an email or calling the solicitors.

Finally, @JV - it didn't have police written on it!

    Hello,

At the G20 protests in the City on April 1st 2009, as 11 people in a "tank" (actually an armored personnel carrier, but tank sounds better!) were pulled over on Bishopsgate, a mass of people on bikes pulled up to see what was going on.

Were you cycling (or walking!) on Bishopsgate at the time the "tank" drove through / got pulled over? Did you see the "tank" at any point on April 1st?

The 11 people from the vehicle were later arrested! Their solicitors are calling out for witnesses (not to the arrests necessarily, but just anyone that saw the vehicle and / or its occupants).

Basically - if you saw this vehicle and its rag-tag assortment of characters - did you think they were real police-people?!

Cheers... One last question - was it sealed cartridge bearings or... loose balls, so to speak? ;-)

I've found that the angle of your pelvis makes a difference. To all sorts of things.. Ahem.

I never get tingling these days unless I ride for long periods on the aero bars. When my pelvis is more upright - say for example if I'm riding in a more upright position - I never get any tingling or numbness. So I think it's pressure towards the front of your parts (taint!), rather than the back, that causes the loss of sensation...

    11 days?! Perseverance indeed!

As my frame's gigantic (62cm-ish) and the post's near the bottom of its range, I reckon I'll leave it until the post fails, if ever. Hope I'm not riding fast if it does ever crack...

no it wasn't french, the lady at the bike shop said when they have a UK stickers they have "standard" thread.

Hi Edy, (And everyone else, of course!)

I've got a pug frame (mid-80's Triathlon) that I've had as a fixie for a while. Trouble is I snapped off the bb axle the other day grunting my way up a steep hill... GRR!

Which Shimano BB did you use? And which crankset did you end up with?

I've had a similar problem with my seatpost (1985 Pug frame and original seatpost) - tried WD40, clamping it and moving the bike (was very surprised when turning the entire bike resulted in twisting the seatpost out of the vice and zero movement out of frame!) hammering...

I'd never heard about the caustic soda treatment, well done on getting it working. I'm using my bike now on a weekly basis, so I might just leave it as it is for the moment.. =)
