Thread derailments are pointless. I imagine all those who have such a strong opinion on it regularly act upon their morals and campaign appropriately (bike forums not included).

The rapid development of all technologies in the last hundred years is predominantly down to the defense industry so everyone sat in front of their computers or responding via their iphones owes it to WW2 codebreaker Alun Turing. Travelling abroad this summer? Frank Whittle of the RAF deserves some thanks. Phone in your pocket?Motorola developed the first Walkie Talkie and mobile telephone for the U.S. Military.
Equal opportunities? Post WW2 was massively improved on a variety of fronts due to responsibilities gained through war.

Do not confuse my argument. I am not condoning war or genocide or anything else. The defense industry will always exist and always receive more money than it deserves in comparison to health, education and pretty much everything else. Whilst it does this, the innovation of this industry allows for is invaluable. Furthermore, it is often the case that the industry is the platform for the development of technology that is simply too expensive for private investment.

I think that these are incredible (it is an aircraft)

Personally, I don't like the fashion thread. Or the one about trainers. That industry arguably does a lot a damage to the world too.

Sprint orienteering is great fun. I've never done the London race but I've run in Sheffield and Warwick. You do get a lot of funny looks though.

I'm training atm for the Welsh One Day Ultra Running Series (see www.mightcontainnuts.com) Managed 30miles yesterday on the Gower Peninsula without loosing any toe nails.

Never the less I think its still all impressive, especially considering gear ratios, geometry, tyres etc. Also, as Bike Destroyer says, its obviously a piss take.

Tour de France next year perhaps - Prologue for the first stage then a Slope Style event on the road bike s in the afternoon.

When he rides along the railing? That not impressive? Unless you can better it the I'd zip it with the 'shit' comments. If you can then post videos. We'd love to see.

How come he's wearing a t-shirt at the start of the hour and a hoodie at the end? Just saying.

That is a custom 63cm Kona frame for the 6ft 5in Ryan Trebon. There's roughly 30cm of saddle-bar drop there too. It's a 130mm stem and he uses 177.5mm crank arms. It's a big bike.

My garage has been condemned. I now have eight bikes in my house and no room to move.
