I lived in Bow which was a gated community so hard to tell what that area was like, sunny Dalston which was great for socialising and going out lots and now Lower Clapton which is my favourite of the lot. You have London's countryside on your doorstep in Hackney Marshes, feels quite safe and feels like an area on the up.
I have to agree with Paul74. Have lived in Archway, Crouch End, Dalston and now Lower Clapton and I'm really digging the Clap. Lovely tree lined streets east of clapton pond and when all the hipsters are cramming themselves into london fields on a sunny day I have pretty much free reign of the marshes, canal and parks. Time out has suggested Clapton is the next Shoreditch. I'm not sure about that, but as has already been said, it does feel like its on the up.

Just been into Evans to get a quote for an insurance claim on an old bike that got nicked. Went OTP for the quote as I thought the insurance company would like that. The robbing bastards want to charge £15 for the fucking privilege!! All I need is a few words scribbled on a piece of letter headed note paper which I can see sat on the fucking counter in front of me! Unreal.
Most things in london are a rip off J-D-S-H.

Was at Tesco, Hackney unlocking my single speed the other day when a guy came up to me and said 'nice bike, is that one of those one-speed bikes?' I said 'Yeh is a single speed'. Carefully looking my bike up and down he then said 'So how do you brake?' I said 'With my front and rear brake mate!'
Who's laughing at who?! -
