hey, thanks very much for all your comments and feedback.
to reply to a few questions, im not english and so i expressed myself incorrectly. sorry to have confused you with the 'caught him but couldnt catch him' thing.
i meant to say we saw him but it was too late and he had time to jump on his bike and cycle off. i guess i could have run after him but it was late, we were only a bunch of girls and im a chicken!
i had pitlocks on the front wheel but recently busted the wheel and the one i currently have is a replacement with quick release (real bum). he didnt take the wheel though (was locked). the bike was locked in front of my friend's house, kinda behind the wellington pub.
yeah i have no front brake but i have been thinking of putting one.
i'll have a look at dalston market and that little shop near dalston junction. thanks for these tips guys i really do appreciate.
cheers. s. -
hi, my forks, seatpost and saddle were stolen on monday night on buckingham street in dalston/de beauvoir. sucks cos i was actually outside having a chat with some friends and the fucker did that 5 meters away from us. we caught him but couldnt catch him.
i thought the saddle might go at some point but the forks!! i still cant believe this.
anyway, i thought maybe i could post a picture of my bike on this and if anyone sees forks like this around and they could let me know that'd be great. i dont know the make or whatever but i thought they were really pretty.
thanks very much, sandra.
nope didnt really see him. he was wearing a black hoodie thats as much as i remember. he was 5 metres away when he was unscrewing things but was hidden by the hedge. he must have heard us stopped talking and coming up. it was like 2am in the morning and my friends and i had gathered because a friend of ours got run over by a car in NYC whilst crossing the street. we were waiting to receive news about her brain operation so we were not really in the best frame of mind to realise and react quickly. im back on the road though with replacement forks etc. and feels good to ride again.
