Essex Road is a nightmare, really freaks me out. The amount of shocking driving and cycling, redlight jumping and ped craziness down there is unbelievable.... some young pramface sees fit to push her kid out right in front of me. I express my concern at her course of action she tells me in no uncertain terms what I can do...nice.
Hah, exactly the same thing happened to me in that area too. I avoid essex road as a rule. I generally take the cycle route from the end of roseberry av to kingsland road.

I recently changed from 48x17 (74 gear inches) to 48x19 (64 inches or close). I much prefer it. My average speed hasn't dropped, but my cadence is up and I can stop a lot better.

On the way home last night, front wheel taco'd (and separated from the bike)and rider surrounded by paramedics. Didn't see it happen but it was right next to the bus stops just after the roundabout so I am guessing he / she pulled out into traffic and got hit. Anyone know anything more?
Also just down the road on Lee bridge road the bridge was shut to traffic with Cops everywhere, but I couldn't see what the cause was. All I could see was a scooter with no seat.
Bad journey home really.
