As some of you might know I have recently purchased the attached lovely classic stronglight cranks for my 1965 Bob Jackson. I now need to find the correct size crank puller to fit them. I am told this tool is quite rare.

DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WITH ONE?

DO I NEED ONE TO FIT THESE CRANKS?

IS THERE A CYCLE SHOP WHO WOULD FIT THEM?

I am desperate to get the bike back on the road! Very close to giving up and getting modern cranks installed instead!

Any further help you might have would be very gratefully received!

    Thanks very much!

you'll have to ask superted of FGL. he's the only person i know of who's got the right french puller in london town.

How do I get in touch with this Superted??

Hello! Thanks for your help. I am now the proud owner of some lovely stronglight cranks. Now I have a problem! Obviously I did not pay enough attention to your advice and was wooed by the look of the stronglights without considering that I might have a task on my hands to find a crank puller for them! Where should I look for one?

DOES ANYONE HAVE AN EXTRACTOR FOR THE VINTAGE STRONGLIGHT CRANKS IN THE PIC - THANKS

Aha! What are your thoughts on this stronglight crank set. Could they work for my bike - in lay mans terms?!

    Hmmm,

I know they are expensive. I love the history though! How hard do you think it will be to get a bottom bracket to fit the stronglight cranks?

Or is this crazy and in fact I could just buy new cranks and bottom bracket that will fit with my existing chainring and spider???

Will the stronglight cranks fit with my existing chinring and spider>????

    SPEC ON THE STRONGLIGHT CRANKS

An Excellent Stronglight 49D & TA Combination.

The Cranks are 49D with 170mm length, excellent tapers and threads, the logos are the early ones with depose only (not Marque Depose). Attached is a good early Logo TA Dural Forged 52 Tooth Ring.

    All in good order.

Wow! Amazing knowledge and advice! I am a bit lost I have to say! I could buy this stronglight set on ebay but do you think I can get them to fit? Would I try to fit the stronglight cranks to my chain ring, or simply replace with this chain ring?

I bow to your superior knowledge - I am a novice I'm afraid!
