Yes, I lurk. Thanks for the link to the Hope, mashton - but is it really 9.95kg?? I hope not, but I s'pose it might explain the special offer...
I'm not a Londoner, so don't have a chance to even entertain wildly deluded notions of joining you guys for a ride, but your tales of derring-do are making me ponder the possibility of getting out on my own in the evenings 'round these parts (deekest, darkest Hull - this is why I need the Hope - it's dim up North, tha' knows...).

Long time lurker, very infrequent poster - hello all from deepest, darkest Hull... (yes, yes, I'm aware that I'm somewhat outside the forum's catchment area)
Yes, non-driveside pic fail of a completely standard* OTP Giant Bowery 72.
Still trying to get used to this whole fixed-malarkey - determinedly spinning round Hull using only 1/18 of the other bike's available gears wasn't quite as much preparation as I'd anticipated... ;-P
Still, it hasn't thrown me off yet, and, more to the point, since getting this, I haven't touched the geared steed (and have, instead, been wondering how practical it'd be to fixify it, too).
Mainly use the bike for commuting to/from work twice a day (I go home at lunch to check on the hound), but am hoping to venture a bit further afield as and when. And, seriously, I'm hoping to flit down to London some time for one of the forum rides (Bridges, or one of the Brighton ones, mebbe).
- standard except for removing the wheel reflectors, front reflector and bell.

BTW, a (small) prize to the first person to tell me what my rider number is, in it's simplest form?
@mashton: simpler form of your number would be zero, if I'm remembering my Euler correctly.
Always thought that was amazing - a transcendental number, raised to an imaginary, transcendental power, evalutes to exactly -1.

What about a Pearson Hanzo?
http://www.pearsoncycles.co.uk/product/3231/PEARSON_HANZO_STEEL_SINGLE_SPEED_2008Steel frame, flip-flop hub, £450. Anyone know anything about these?
That Touche of theirs (already mentioned) looks nice - just not sure about an aluminium frame.
balmain - mike e isn't the only fixed/ss in Hull - there's a woman with a burgundy Surly, an older guy riding a Pete Dunn, some bloke on a Pista with risers and... me at least. There's also a couple of fixed conversions I see hanging about the Uni. (I say fixed/ss because I can't be sure they're fixed...)
I'm not yet that strong a rider, and so wouldn't want to be a drag on people in a group ride just yet. Am aiming to build up my fitness, though, and an overnight ride definitely sounds... like a worthy challenge.
