Sliding forward on the seat with periods of increased effort allows you to sit more over the bottom bracket with your legs over the pedals. You can then sit back into the saddle for a more comfortable ride when you are not going all out. I tend to do this on mine. If you are constantly on the front of the saddle it may be worth trying to adjust the fore-aft a bit or trying out a frame with a steeper seat tube to see if that helps?
There is an interesting article from Dave Moulton about frame geometry on this:

So if Rapha is too pricy for you, there is 70% everything at www.bspoke.co.uk right now.
Cheers for the link, I ordered the Russell Merino top and am very impressed with it-great bargain! It fits really well and is comfortable with just the right amount of give so it should hold its shape well and also accommodate my ever expanding festive beer gut!

Hey Bern, things are good thanks mate...im still riding and tinkering with the old bikes as often as work permits! Hope all is good with you buddy, should sort out festive drinks soon. Wibble - should have manned up and jumped in earlier...the water looked a bit cold but quite refreshing once you are in!
I recently picked up a white Brooks Swift from the new B1866 Brooks store in Covent Garden. They are now making these in a wide range of colours including white for custom order. I have been after one for ages to finish off my Mercian and was able to convince them to sell me the first one that was on display in the store. It is probably not a very practical colour and was quite pricey but looks great on my Mercian (and I find a broken in Swift super comfy).
