Just saw this on the news, and it really stinks. At best it's someone deliberately legging it from an incident, at worst it was a deliberate act.

I really hope this isn't a case of a stolen vehicle, so whoever was responsible isn't going to evade justice.

What also worries me, is that I know a handful of couples who could be in that part of the world on a tandem.

[QUOTE=clefty;1338336]by the way, the code doesn't work :-)

You're a little quick off the mark.
The fella who's designed and printed it will enable the working code as of about now.

Did this ever get sorted, or has it now run out? I remembered this thread (gods knows why it popped into my head) and I just tried the discount code and got:

Coupon code "shootthebreeze" is not valid.

The Space Grips can be OK, but they'll only take so much weight. The Swing Grip variant seems to get the most flac, and the Topeak Bar-X-tender seems to be one of the more solid of the type. I've had the Bar-X-tender loose it though, when a bit too overloaded with a couple of heavyish lights (An Exposure Race Maxx and an Exposure Joystick).

The SJS one you linked to looks like it's probably reasonably solid, so long as you want things mounted above and below, rather than side by side.

Ah right, I couldn't see anything on the CM London website, and I don't dogmatically watch my Twitter feed, I just catch the occasional thing.

    Interesting.

Isn't the next Critical Mass in two weeks time, or do you know something I don't?

Certainly the lights don't change as fast as every three minutes, so presumably we'll end up with small convoys of trucks as they catch up with each other.

I'll be going past the Battersea part of the route tomorrow evening, so I'll make damn sure I watch out for them.

At the stupidly cheap end of the market, the Decathlon b'Twin Vitamin for £70 !

It's not exactly the best single-speed in the world, but it's pretty good value for money. The gearing is daft at 52", the supplied lights are laughable, and are best chucked straight in the bin, and the frames a bit on the heavy side.

The brakes are a bit cheap, but they seem to work OK, likewise most of the components, which are noname unbranded stuff, but for that sort of money it's fine as a cheap, pub bike and similar.

It only comes in two sizes, Medium and Large. The Medium may be OK for someone 5'6", but you'd have to try it out.

Of course, her existing bike may well be better than this...

    £2 cheaper on wiggle btw:

...but that one doesn't include all the bits you need. From the description:

(no cleat or head bolt included)
